Video Game Reviews: Kid Icarus Uprising

Kid Icarus has returned and damn it Nintendo did it in style!!! Yeah I know this review is late, but who cares! This is my blog and it's free you spoiled brat! The Kid hasn't starred in a game since 1991 on Gameboy. After years of dateless nerds begging for his return he back on the Nintendo 3DS! Kid Icarus Uprising feels like a re-imagining of the Classic 8-bit Nintendo (NES) and Game Boy game with a face lift.

If anyone has played the games of the past, Kid Icarus NES was no walk in the park! These game can be butt load of endless difficultly! Throwing the controller in to the TV difficult! It seems Uprising has lowered the challenge to get anyone to play it, not just the hardcore player which is a great move... The voice acting is a nice touch, reminds me so much of classic game such as Star Fox 64. Great graphics, surrealist game play and on the on rail shooting is a great twist from the arcade games of the past.

Now for the bad...(which is rare in a Nintendo made game) The camera is hard to focus, I hate spinning it around too see where I am going. Why couldn't it be a locked camera mainly cause it's a on rail shooter? Also I hate using the Styli to aim! It works and all but it's annoying in the way you have to hold it! Example, your playing your Nintendo 3DS on the train or the toilet, very hard to keep balanced forcing you to use your lap or other fingers... I know it comes with a stand, but are you really gonna bring that on the go? Not a big problem but still a issue.

Overall a great game, it's the game the fans have been waiting in their mom's basements for! I give it 4 out 5 Toes!

Movie Review: Men In Black 3

Took them nearly 15 years, but it's finally here! Men in Black 3! I had a free pre-screening and have to say it is a solid 3rd movie. Good story, clever ideas. Will Smith gave it his all in the writing and it shows.

Men in Black 3 is not without it's down sides. First lack of Aliens. I barely saw any! The ones I did see were humanoid! I remember the first two films had Aliens up to your knees but never took away from the story. Did the movie producers think the movie may bomb due a giant gap between it's sequels and didn't want to blow the budget on special effects? Well the story in MIB 3 is strong enough the viewer may mentally over write this. Second, Tommy Lee Jones (himself) was barely in the movie! Is he getting up there age wise and couldn't do the film? At least a CGI body for stunts.

Overall good film, but if your looking for a massive alien battles, you may be disappointed...

I give this film 3 Toes out of 5!

The Simpsons: Moe's Tavern REAL???

Is Moe's Tavern real? Did I just walk into Springfield world of the Simpsons? Funny thing I was walking down the street minding someone else business till saw the Simpsons Tavern! Whoo! Did my dreams of being in Cartoon come true? Far from it! If your familiar with the 23 year show, that Moe's Tavern isn't the best place to drink, and the real mock up isn't far from it...Minus a passed out Barney Gumble....

I love how the owners even drew a altered Simpsons on the wall to avoid any copyright violation! The Thompsons (watch the show)?  But if you love the Simpsons or Nostalgia hop on over for a visit!

If Fox ever finds out there's gonna be a lawsuit so you better hurry! LOL! They even put copyrighted Moe as a logo! D'OH! Hopefully Fox sees it as a tribute or fan dedication and leaves it be... I met Matt Groening once, he loves this kinda stuff!

Brains! If you don't have any your in luck, cause the world is in Zombie Mania! Or should I say poser mania! Why when I was younger, everything I liked was made fun of, example Zombies, now today it's excepted? Oh well, just proves my kind (the Nerd) won the war! Now with shows like the Walking Dead makes the average Joe Six tooth is into Zombies... I think it's great too see Monsters being loved by the world! But by the right fans that is....Posers!

Goodbye sweet princess! You were Chicago's love and now your gone.... Why did the city take her away? The statue could of been a new Chicago landmark! But no... Only a memory... I even heard people cry! Mothers, kids, even a virgin nerd cause Marylin was his first love at 3 a.m. when no one was looking ...  If you always wondered what Marylin looked like decapitated, now you know!

Movie Review: Battleship or Battle-shit??

Just came from a free screening of Battleship, more like Battle-shit! What does Aliens, giant killer robot balls, 2nd clone Earth and Aliens that look like old anorexic men with spikey porcupine beards have to do with a toy from the 1960's or the Navy??? Plot: Peaceful day on lustful sex filled Earth, BAM! Aliens attack with no rhyme or reason! No they don't attack cities, or world leaders, they only attack the ocean where the battle-shits are....I'm so glad this eye cancer was free....

I give this movie 2 smelly toes down! Skip it!

Anime Central 2012 & borderline Nudity at acen!

Yet again another great year at Anime Central or acen 2012!  Full of Great costumes, teens running around in drag and borderline Nudity! It was great, just the way Lummox likes it! More nudity please...

I never been too hardcore into Anime, but I am a fan of many. As a Video Game fan this is heaven minus the clouds, unless someone is dressed as one.

The biggest highlight for me was meeting a childhood hero, X Power Ranger Johnny Yong Bosch! If you don't know Johnny Yong Bosch is from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo! Played Adam Park as the 2nd Black Mastodon Ranger, Zeo Ranger IV Green and Green Turbo Ranger! So I had a fun time nerding it up while drooling over his Lion Thunderzord parked in the parking lot.

ACEN is a great time for that Anime lover. Even if your in love with Anime sexually and cuddle books and DVD's at night in bed, you will love it more! 

Now for the bad... Grrr! The line to get in is nuts! 3 hour wait?? Very unorganized! I have been at other Cons in the same spot and takes less then 30 seconds to get in! Why is the line so long? There are at least 10 registration booths! Not that hard to fix! No one that works there knows where anything is! I asked three workers where things were or celebrities locations, no one had a clue! Come on you work here! I remember asking a worker where Johnny Yong Bosch booth was, as he was asking five other workers I realized we were next to his booth. Then they told me they had no clue still, your next to his booth!!!! 


Still it's a great Con, just a little unorganized. I recommend if you want to avoid the three hour wait and want to see some action instead. Just skip on over too the hotel Hyatt to see people pose in their costumes.

C2E2 2012 and Sweaty Nerds

Do you like Sweaty Nerds, Freaks in tight pants and Crazy great art? Then C2E2 is the place for you! Located at Chicago's Mc Cormick place re-live your childhood or continuous childhood into your late 40's meeting the top comic book artist or celebrities! This years c2e2 2012 had a great line up such as Sean Astin (Lords of the Ring), David Newell (Mr. McFeely from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood), Jhonen Vasquez (creator of Invader Zim) and the great Anthony Daniels (C-3PO from Star Wars), who covered his face when I tried to say hello! And more I had no clue on who they were! Still great! But the best part of C2E2 is the Cosplay. Great costumes on display from all walks of Pop Culture. From Power Rangers to Spider-Man, to Darth Vader to Half Naked Girls that nerds only dream of being near. Good time! Want a good time too, plan a visit next year at c2e2.com now! You can't go now this review is 2 weeks late! lol! Enjoy in the next year!
